Hi5 & the Remaining Days in Singapore

Maya officially turned 2 in Singapore on the 7th June. Other than mummy, daddy could not celebrate with her as he was going to have a major exam on the 8th. So, as promised, mummy went around aimlessly into many 7-Eleven shops searching for Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. My gosh, I just cannot recall how many 7-Eleven I went into and sadly, none of them carried the duo. But just as funny as life itself, we stumbled upon 3 shops that sold party items. By luck, they had many pirate accesories, and Maya was esctatic! We bought a few things and then continued our search for the duck as daddy was busy studying back in the hotel room. In the end, we walked all the way to Illuma and back to Bugis Junction where we finally found Donald Duck and Daisy Duck in BHG. As bonus, Care Bear Friends were on sale as well. Oh what a day we had! By then, Maya was all exhausted and so was mummy, but I had to lug back all the shopping in one arm, and a newly turned 2-year-old kid in the other. Tired arms...painful arms...Back in the hotel room, daddy decided to take a quick break, and we had some fun with the new pirate accesories while singing ,"Happy Birthday" to Maya. We had a few other plushies joining in the celebration as well. Ahem..
The day after Maya's birthday, mummy decided to bring her to United Square Mall to meet her idol, Hi5. The first ever disc she watched as a baby, and the group she so adore. Mummy being socially awkward at most times, and least friendly of Maya's parents decided to brave the situation and let her meet them. I am so glad they are all so friendly and warm. Even the new comer, Dayyen, who replaced Fely, is most friendly and chatty. Maya has even learnt to chant, and yes, I repeat chant, Stevie's and Tim's name, though she only does it when they are not around. She's really very shy in front of them. She actually, patiently waited for more than 2 hours to watch their show. I am so proud of her. Mummy went with her in the morning and was only able to attend the meet and greet session. So when daddy was back from his exam, Maya sprang up from her nap, and in her limited verbal language, told him about Hi5, and seeing her enthusiasm and spirit, daddy decided to bring the whole family down to the mall and watch their live show before our flight back to Malaysia, tomorrow. And what luck we had, when we bumped into them while we were waiting for our taxi. Being ever so kind, Tim Maddren, the musician from New Zealand and a member of Hi5, sang the song from Toy Box and did the pirate ,"Arrr" for Maya. Thank you to all Hi5 members and crew for making Maya's 2nd birthday, an awesome and absolutely memorable one.

And as usual, Maya did some crafting and free play while she was in the hotel room on the many days daddy was studying. :)
