Paint Transfer on Origami Paper

Maya kept with this activity for nearly two hours. She was so engrossed in it asking me to fold more origami paper in half for her to paint.

Items: Origami paper, non-toxic paint, paint brush and disposable plate.

Method: Fold the origami paper in half, and paint on one side only.

Once painted, open the whole paper and fold in half to transfer the paint to the other side. This is to create a mirror image. You can also fold into quarters, and paint on one quarter. Unfold and fold again to transfer the images unto all four quarters.

For the paint, I usually use Crayolla. Fully washable and non toxic. Every time we have a painting session, we usually will lay a big piece of paper underneath our project. Disposable plates are used as our painting palettes.
